The recent floods in Bangarmau District, Unnao, UP East have led to extensive devastation, particularly in the Katari area along the Ganga River. Numerous villages, situated approximately 15 km from the riverbank, have been submerged by floodwaters that extended up to 7 km from the river. Our volunteers conducted visits to over a dozen affected villages, including, Biryagada, Khairuddinpur, Setuwahi, Mallahanpurwa, Fareedpur Kattar, Mela Alam, Bikharipur Patasiya, Gahar Purwa, and Budda. Consequently, the floods have caused complete crop destruction, rendering agricultural fields unproductive and severely affecting the livelihoods of countless farmers.
Additionally, residents have been compelled to evacuate, finding shelter in flood relief camps, and even their livestock has not been spared from the detrimental impact. In the face of these challenging circumstances, the relief efforts by SBF UP East are truly commendable. Their initiatives have provided essential assistance to the affected population, and their ongoing work continues to offer crucial support.
