As you may be aware, several states in our country are currently facing severe flood including Delhi, specifically in South Delhi, where the Yamuna River has caused significant damage to low-lying areas. SBF is actively assisting in flood-affected areas.
Yesterday, a dedicated team of SBF conducted an assessment in Jaitpur. Where more than a thousand people have been affected by the floods, and many have been forced to abandon their homes, seeking refuge on the roadside. Recognizing the worsening flood situation in Delhi, we organized a crucial meeting today, July 13th, at our headquarters, with Delhi volunteers and partner organizations.
During this meeting, important decisions were made to ensure our relief effort including detailed review of Jaitpur for accurate victim identification, setting up tarpaulin shades for immediate protection and distribution of cooked food to provide relief.
To ensure effective coordination and collaboration, we have established partnerships with the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). Together, we will work towards providing much-needed relief and support to the flood victims.
Three teams have been appointed for survey, donation coordination, and Jaitpur Relief work.
