On October 15, 2023, the Society For Bright Future (SBF) organized a Domestic Risk Mitigation Workshop for women in Assam North, with the participation of approximately 150 individuals eager to learn from expert facilitators.
The event featured Mr. Kaberi Gogoi, an Instructor from Civil Defence, Dhubri, who covered a wide range of essential topics, including first aid, patient handling, CPR training, stretcher making, and flood management. Additionally, Mr. Mithun, a senior officer from the Fire and Emergency Services, shared insights about domestic fire fighting and the various types of fires. Mr. Jayanto Boro, the Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, conducted sessions focused on self-defense techniques and practical mock drills to prepare participants for emergencies. Lastly, Mr. Mofarjel Sarkar, the Disaster Preparedness Officer, delivered a comprehensive briefing on disaster awareness.
This workshop was designed to equip participants with critical skills and knowledge to effectively address domestic risks, and it is anticipated to have a positive impact on the community’s ability to manage and mitigate such risks.
