On the occasion of World Blood Donation Day, Society for Bright Future (SBF) organized blood donation camps in West Bengal, UP West, Gujarat, and Punjab. World Blood Donor Day falls on 14 June each year and aims to raise global awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion.
The day also provides an opportunity to call to action to governments and national health authorities to provide adequate resources and put into place systems and infrastructures to increase the collection of blood from voluntary and non-remunerated blood donors. The blood donation camps organized by SBF drew a huge response with more than 150 people donating blood. SBF also uses various mediums like social media posts and posters to create awareness about the importance of blood donation.
