On the occasion of World Environment Day, Society for Bright Future (SBF) organized Tree Plantation Drive across the country in 28 places covering seven states.
World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year to remind ourselves of the importance of nature and the respect it deserves for its values.
With the Coronavirus outbreak and people confined indoors, the environment and the Earth seem to have benefitted in rejuvenating itself and reclaiming its space.
During the Plantation Drive organized by SBF, 1028 saplings of Neem, Bargad, Teak, and Sangwan were planted in Delhi, Punjab, MP, UP, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. In most of the places, Police personnel, elected representatives, and government officials were invited to participate in the drive.
Mr. Wajid Ali Khan, Counsellor, Ward No. 102, Okhla appreciated the efforts of SBF and also appealed through social media to people across the country to plant at least ten trees, as part of the drive.
