In the wake of the recent Mathauri collapse along the Nonai river, a series of villages in Darrang, including Shyampur, Sipajha and many others, faced severe flooding. In response, SBF’s Darrang Area Cores conducted a comprehensive survey of flood- affected individuals seeking shelter within the Mathauri structure at Duwaripara. Presently, approximately 100 families, comprising around 450 individuals, are residing in the Mathauri, requiring immediate assistance.
In Shyampur village SBF’s Dalgaon Area Core Group responded swiftly and rescued 140 flood- affected families and facilitated their relocation to safer locations.
