Disaster Ready Model Village, Bhella in Assam held a successful Disaster Management Workshop on 19th February. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about Disaster Ready Model Village and Disaster Management among the local residents. Topics covered included basic knowledge about disaster management, first aid techniques, Stretcher-making training, CPR training and Understanding disaster terminology, including disaster, hazard, vulnerability, mitigation, preparedness, relief, rehabilitation and development.
The workshop was attended by Village Headman Atiqur Rahman, Masjid Committee Secretary Milan Ali, DRMV Coordinator, Matiur Rahman, Village Coordinator Ridul Ali, Shariful Haque and 5 SBF volunteers.
The participants gained valuable knowledge, and their questions were satisfactorily answered. It is hoped that the workshop will help to mitigate the impact of any disasters in the future.
