Date: 5th November 2025
Location: Manglaur, Uttarakhand

Road safety is not just a responsibility of authorities—it’s a shared duty of every citizen. With this belief, the Society for Bright Future (SBF) volunteers from Manglaur and Salempur came together on 5th November 2025 to conduct a Traffic Control and Awareness Drive at Manglaur. The initiative aimed to promote traffic discipline, raise awareness about road safety, and encourage public cooperation in maintaining smooth vehicular movement.

The activity was carried out under the leadership of dedicated SBF volunteers Mohd. Farman, Mohd. Moin, Mohd. Nadeem, Shadab Ali, and their enthusiastic team members. Together, they worked on-site to help manage traffic flow and spread awareness among commuters, shopkeepers, and pedestrians. Their message was simple yet powerful — “Safe roads, safe lives.”

Meeting with Traffic Authorities

As part of the initiative, the SBF team also met Traffic Inspector Mr. Rajveer Saini, who appreciated the volunteers for their disciplined approach and commitment to public service. During the meeting, discussions were held on community involvement in traffic management, especially in peak hours and high-traffic zones. Mr. Saini emphasized the importance of consistent public awareness efforts and encouraged the team to continue organizing such drives in nearby areas as well.

The meeting underscored the value of partnerships between civil society organizations like SBF and law enforcement agencies. By working hand in hand, such collaborations help in reducing accidents, improving civic responsibility, and ensuring better coordination during emergencies.

On-Ground Activities and Public Interaction

The volunteers began their work early in the morning, assisting in regulating vehicle movement near key intersections and marketplaces. They guided drivers about lane discipline, use of helmets and seatbelts, and avoiding mobile phone usage while driving. Leaflets on traffic safety were distributed, highlighting the importance of obeying signals and maintaining speed limits.

Pedestrians were also advised to use zebra crossings and remain alert while crossing roads. Volunteers interacted with shopkeepers and residents, requesting their cooperation in keeping roads clear and assisting elderly or disabled individuals in safe crossing.

The enthusiasm of the volunteers and the positive response from the public created an inspiring environment. Many commuters expressed appreciation for the effort, acknowledging that small reminders like these make a big difference in maintaining daily discipline on the roads.

Spreading Awareness for a Safer Tomorrow

The Traffic Awareness Drive not only helped manage local traffic but also instilled a sense of civic responsibility among the community. SBF volunteers demonstrated how organized teamwork, coupled with compassion and commitment, can bring about meaningful social change.

Through this initiative, the Society for Bright Future reaffirmed its commitment to public welfare and community empowerment. It emphasized that true change begins at the local level — when ordinary citizens take extraordinary steps for the collective good.

As the drive concluded, the volunteers pledged to continue similar awareness campaigns in other regions, reinforcing their mission to make roads safer and communities more responsible.Together, we move towards a disciplined, safer, and more aware society.
