Delhi Flood Relief Update

Sep 15, 2025

The Society for Bright Future (SBF) has always stood with communities in times of distress, and the recent floods in New Delhi have once again tested the resilience of thousands of families. Homes were submerged, livelihoods disrupted, and basic necessities such as food, water, and hygiene became scarce for countless households. In response to this humanitarian crisis, the SBF Delhi team continued its series of relief initiatives, bringing timely support to the most vulnerable.

On 11th September 2025, the team carried out an impactful distribution drive in Madanpur Khadar, one of the flood-affected localities where families are struggling to rebuild their lives.

Hygiene Kits Distribution: Protecting Health in Crisis

One of the most pressing concerns in flood-hit areas is the spread of waterborne and contagious diseases. With stagnant water and damaged sanitation facilities, families—especially women, children, and the elderly—face serious health risks. To address this urgent need, SBF distributed 100 Hygiene Kits to affected families.

Each kit contained essential items to help families maintain cleanliness and protect themselves from infections. The initiative was led by Mr. Abul Sattar (State Convener, Delhi) and Ms. Huma (Co-Convener, Delhi), supported by four dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure fair and smooth distribution. The drive was well-coordinated under the supervision of Mr. Shahzad (PRO, Delhi), whose efficient planning made the process seamless despite the challenging conditions.

Acknowledging Our Partners: The Power of Collaboration

Relief work at such a scale is never the effort of one organization alone—it is a collective mission. We are deeply grateful to Ms. Gudia, our partner, for her valuable support and contribution in making this distribution drive possible. Partnerships like these not only strengthen our ability to respond quickly but also amplify the impact of our efforts.

Beyond Hygiene: Ensuring No One Sleeps Hungry

While SBF focused on providing hygiene essentials during this drive, our partner organization has been on the ground since the very beginning of the floods, working day and night to deliver food packets on a daily basis. These ongoing efforts have ensured that even in the most difficult days, families had something to eat, and no one was left to go hungry.

The combined efforts of SBF and our partners reflect a spirit of solidarity and compassion that is essential in times of crisis.

Standing Together with the Community

The floods in Delhi have left behind destruction that will take weeks, if not months, to recover from. Yet, amidst the chaos, there is hope—hope found in the courage of affected families, in the selflessness of volunteers, and in the compassion of donors and partners.

The Society for Bright Future remains committed to standing shoulder to shoulder with those in need. From providing food and hygiene supplies to addressing health concerns and planning rehabilitation measures, our mission is to restore dignity, resilience, and normalcy to disaster-struck families.

🤝 Together, we stand strong with our brothers and sisters in this difficult time.
