The recent floods have severely impacted communities along the Delhi–Faridabad stretch, displacing families and creating urgent humanitarian needs. In response, the Society for Bright Future (SBF) has stepped up relief operations to support affected families in some of the hardest-hit localities.
Relief Visit Under Strong Leadership
Under the leadership of Mr. Abus Sattar (State Convener, SBF Delhi), a team of dedicated volunteers visited Kalindi Kunj, Basantpur, Vishwakarma, Atal Chowk, Bajrang Chowk, and Shiv Vihar Colony. The visit aimed to assess the ground realities, identify immediate needs, and extend direct support to distressed families.
Key Issues Identified
During the visit, several urgent concerns came to light:
- ⚠️ Shortage of dry ration, especially affecting children and the elderly.
- 🦟 Rising health risks including dengue, malaria, and skin infections due to stagnant water.
- 💧 Lack of clean drinking water, increasing vulnerability to waterborne diseases.
- 🏚 Unsafe housing conditions, with many families living in temporary or partially damaged shelters.
Adding to the crisis, Basantpur faces the risk of thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, further endangering families already in fragile conditions.
Immediate Needs
Based on the survey and community interactions, the following items have been identified as priority requirements:
- ✅ Dry Ration Kits for families in need.
- ✅ Medical Aid to address emerging health challenges.
- ✅ Safe Drinking Water to prevent waterborne diseases.
- ✅ Temporary Shelters to provide families with safe living spaces.
